Walking
Republic Square is centrally located in Malé and is easily accessible on foot from many points in the city. From the Malé Fish Market, walk east along Boduthakurufaanu Magu for about 5 minutes. The Square will be on your left, marked by the large Maldivian flag.
Public Transport
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) operates bus routes throughout Malé. Several bus stops are located near Republic Square, including Hilaaleege, which is a 1-minute walk away. Bus fares start at MVR 3. You can also reach the square by ferry, with the Malé Ferry Terminal a short walk away. Ferry fares to nearby islands range from MVR 30-75.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available in Malé. A short taxi ride to Republic Square from any point in the city typically costs around MVR 20. Note that fares may increase to MVR 30 after 11 PM.
