If you are traveling by car, start by heading towards the nearest ferry terminal in Haa Dhaalu Atoll. The closest major terminal is located in Thulhaadhoo. Drive to the ferry terminal, which is approximately 30 minutes away from any central location in the atoll. Once at the terminal, you will need to board a ferry to Vashafaru, where Beenafushi is located. The ferry ride takes about 20 minutes and typically costs around 10 MVR (Maldivian Rufiyaa). After arriving at Vashafaru, you can either walk or take a local bike taxi to reach Beenafushi, which is a short distance away from the ferry dock.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, first take a local bus to Thulhaadhoo from your accommodation. This bus ride can take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on your starting point within Haa Dhaalu Atoll. Once you arrive at the Thulhaadhoo ferry terminal, purchase a ticket for the ferry to Vashafaru. The ferry departs several times a day and the cost is around 10 MVR. After reaching Vashafaru, you can access Beenafushi either by walking or hiring a local bike taxi. The local bike taxi fare is usually around 20-30 MVR.
