Sunrise Beach: A Tropical Paradise on Maafushi

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are already on Maafushi Island, you can reach Sunrise Beach on foot. From the main jetty area where ferries arrive, head south towards the main street. Turn left on the main street and walk straight for about 10 minutes. You will pass several local shops and guesthouses. Continue walking until you reach the end of the road; you will see a sign for Sunrise Beach. The beach is located along the southern coast of the island.

• Bicycle Rental

  For a quicker option, you can rent a bicycle from various rental shops scattered around Maafushi Island. The rental cost is usually around 3-5 USD per day. Once you have a bicycle, head south from the main jetty along the main street. The ride will take about 5 minutes. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Sunrise Beach, which will be on your right as you approach the southern tip of the island.

• Scooter Rental

  If you prefer a motorized option, renting a scooter is also possible. Rental places can be found near the jetty, and prices range from 10-15 USD per day. Once you have your scooter, follow the same route as the bicycle, heading south along the main street for approximately 5 minutes. There will be signs pointing you to Sunrise Beach. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local traffic rules.
