The journey takes about 10 minutes. To reach other islands in the North and South Malé Atolls, public ferries depart from the MTCC Malé Ferry Terminal (also known as Henveyru Ferry Terminal) in Malé. Check the schedule and purchase tickets directly at the terminal. Prices vary depending on the distance, typically ranging from $1-$10 USD. Note that ferry schedules can be infrequent, and some routes may not operate daily or on Fridays.

    Taxis are readily available at Velana International Airport and in Malé. A taxi from the airport to Malé costs around 20 MVR (approximately $1.30 USD) for any distance. An extra charge of 10 MVR may apply for luggage. Taxis within Malé also follow a similar pricing structure. Keep in mind that taxis are a convenient option for short distances, but can be more expensive for traveling between islands.

    A bus service, operated by MTCC, connects Velana International Airport and Hulhumalé. The bus stop is about 50 meters from the airport exit. The fare to Hulhumalé is around 20 MVR.
