Plane
The most common way to reach Ifuru Island is by air from Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé. Upon arrival at MLE, look for Ifuru Island representatives who will assist with your transfer. You have two options: a 27-minute domestic flight to Ifuru Island's private airport (IFU) or a 45-minute scenic seaplane flight. **Domestic Flight:** A round trip domestic flight transfer is USD 350++ per adult (12 years and above). Children between 2-11 years are charged USD 175++. Infants below 2 years travel free. Excess baggage is charged at USD 5 plus 17% GST per kg, payable at the airport. **Seaplane:** A roundtrip seaplane transfer is USD 530++ per adult (12 years and above). Children below 12 years are charged USD 320++. ++ Transfer rates are subject to 10% service charge and 17% government goods and service tax.
Ferry
While less common, it may be possible to reach Ifuru Island via public ferry. From Malé, take a local ferry to a nearby inhabited island in Raa Atoll. From there, arrange a private speedboat transfer to Ifuru Island. Note: Ferry schedules and availability can be unpredictable, and private speedboat transfers can be expensive. **Ferry:** Prices vary depending on the route and distance. Check the Moovit app for routes and prices. **Private Speedboat:** Expect to pay upwards of USD 200 for a one-way transfer, depending on the distance and the boat operator.
