From Velana International Airport (MLE) on Hulhulé Island, the most convenient way to reach Sands Exotic Hotel is by speedboat. Speedboats operate directly from the airport to Thulusdhoo. The ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Contact your hotel to arrange a speedboat transfer in advance. Expect to pay around $30-$35 per person for a one-way trip. Some shared speedboats may wait for other passengers, so factor in potential waiting time. Private speedboats are also available but are more expensive.
Public Transport
For a budget-friendly option, take the public ferry from Malé to Thulusdhoo. First, take the airport ferry to Malé. This ferry runs every 10-15 minutes and costs 15 MVR (approximately $1 USD). From the MTCC Ferry Terminal in Malé, take the public ferry to Thulusdhoo. The Thulusdhoo ferry departs at 3:00 PM every day except Friday and costs 22 MVR (approximately $1.50 USD). The ferry journey takes around 90 minutes. From the Thulusdhoo ferry terminal, Sands Exotic Hotel is a short walk or bicycle ride away.
