Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the city of Kayes. Head northwest on Route N1 towards the village of Kéniéba. Continue on this road for about 30 kilometers until you reach the fork in the road. Take the left fork towards Félou Falls, which is marked with signs. Drive for approximately 20 kilometers, and you will find a parking area near the falls. Please note that the road can be bumpy, so a vehicle with good clearance is recommended.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a shared taxi (known as a 'clando') from Kayes towards Kéniéba. The ride will take about 45 minutes and costs around 1,500 CFA francs. Once you reach Kéniéba, you will need to hire a motorcycle taxi (also known as 'moto') to take you to Félou Falls. The moto ride will take approximately 30 minutes and should cost about 2,000 CFA francs. Make sure to negotiate the price before starting your journey.
Walking
If you are already close to Félou Falls and prefer to walk, there are paths leading from nearby villages to the falls. However, this option is only advisable for those who are physically fit and familiar with rural trekking. Ensure you have a local guide if you choose to walk, as the paths can be unmarked. The walk can take between 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your starting point.
Use Tower Bridge as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
