Getting There

  • Car

    From Kayes, head northwest on N27 towards Kati. After approximately 80 km, you will reach the junction leading to the Gouina Falls. Turn left onto the dirt road (this may be marked along the way). Follow this road for about 15 km, which may become bumpy and uneven, so drive cautiously. Continue straight until you see signs for Gouina Falls. There is usually a small parking area near the falls.

  • Public Transportation

    Take a shared taxi-brousse from Kayes to the town of Siby. These typically depart from the main taxi station in Kayes and cost around 2000-3000 CFA francs. Once in Siby, you'll need to hire a motorcycle taxi (known as 'Jakarta') to take you to Gouina Falls. The motorcycle ride will take approximately 30 minutes and should cost around 5000 CFA francs. Ensure to communicate clearly to the driver that your destination is Gouina Falls.
