Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the center of Birgu, near the main square (Pjazza San Lawrenz). Head north on Triq San Lawrenz towards the waterfront. Continue straight until you reach the waterfront promenade, which is called the 'Birgu Waterfront'. Follow the promenade along the coast until you reach the end of the Birgu area, where you will see the entrance to Valletta across the Grand Harbour. From here, you can either walk to the ferry terminal (about 10 minutes) or take a ferry to Valletta. If you choose to walk, continue straight, passing through the ferry terminal area. Once you arrive at the Valletta entrance, head up the steps towards Republic Street. Continue walking straight until you reach the lower part of Valletta. The Grandmaster Palace Courtyard is located on the left side on Palace Square, a short walk from the main street.

    From the waterfront in Birgu, walk towards the ferry terminal located on the Birgu Waterfront. Look for the signs directing you to the Valletta ferry service. Purchase a ticket and board the ferry to Valletta. The ferry ride takes about 10 minutes. Once you arrive at the Valletta ferry terminal, exit the terminal and walk straight towards the main street (Republic Street). Continue walking straight until you reach the Grandmaster Palace Courtyard, which will be on your left side at Palace Square.
