Getting There

Walking
From the center of Birgu, head towards the waterfront by walking down Triq il-Mina. Continue straight until you reach the end of the road, which leads to the marina. At the marina, turn left onto Triq il-Batterija, and follow this road as it curves around the coastline. Keep walking along the water until you reach the entrance of Fort St. Elmo, which is located on Mediterranean Street at St. Elmo Place in Valletta. The total distance is approximately 1.5 kilometers and should take around 20-25 minutes.

From Birgu, make your way to the nearest bus stop, which is located on Triq Sant' Anna. Take bus number 2 or 3 towards Valletta. The journey will take about 10-15 minutes. Once you arrive at the Valletta bus terminus, exit the bus and head towards the main road. Continue walking straight along Republic Street, then turn left onto Mediterranean Street. Follow Mediterranean Street until you reach St. Elmo Place, where Fort St. Elmo is located. The total time from Birgu to Fort St. Elmo is approximately 30-40 minutes, including waiting time for the bus.
