Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the main square in Birgu, known as the 'Pjazza Vittoriosa.' From the square, head south towards the waterfront promenade. Follow the promenade along the Grand Harbour until you reach the end. You will come across the entrance to the Upper Barracca Gardens. Instead of entering the gardens, continue straight along the waterfront until you see signs pointing towards Valletta. From here, ascend the stairway that leads up to Valletta. Once you reach the top, continue walking straight ahead, passing through the city gate and into Valletta. After entering Valletta, follow the road until you reach Lascaris Ditch, where The Lascaris War Rooms are located. The museum will be on your right side.

    From Birgu, walk to the nearest bus stop located at the entrance of the town. Take Bus number 133 towards Valletta. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the Valletta Terminus. Once you exit the bus, walk through the city gate into Valletta. Continue walking straight along Republic Street, which will lead you towards Lascaris Ditch. Follow the signs to The Lascaris War Rooms, which will be on your right side just before reaching the end of Lascaris Ditch.
