Discover more about Panoramic view

Perched on the southwestern coast of Malta, the panoramic viewpoint at Dingli Cliffs offers an awe-inspiring experience. Rising 253 meters above sea level, these cliffs provide dramatic views of the Mediterranean Sea and the uninhabited islet of Filfla. The area is a haven for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty. The cliffs themselves are composed of Upper Coralline Limestone, shaped over millions of years by waves and wind. The name 'Dingli' is believed to originate from Sir Thomas Dingley, an English knight who owned land in the area in the 16th century. Visitors can explore the area by walking along the Triq Panoramika, a cliffside path offering picturesque scenery. The popular St. Mary Magdalene Chapel, dating back to 1646, sits nearby and is known as the 'chapel of the cliffs'. The area is also rich in history, with ancient tombs and cart ruts hinting at habitation dating back to Phoenician, Carthaginian, and Roman eras. Sunset is a particularly magical time to visit, as the sky transforms into a canvas of vibrant colors. The cliffs provide an ideal setting for picnics, leisurely walks, and photography.
