    Take a bus to the Mdina bus terminal. From Valletta, buses 51, 52, and 53 run frequently. Exit the terminal and walk towards Mdina's main entrance. Pass through the city gates and continue along the main road; signs will guide you to various attractions, including Porte des Grecs. A single bus fare costs €2.00.

    The Porte des Grecs, also known as the Greeks Gate, is a captivating entrance into the fortified city of Mdina, Malta. Its name derives from the small Greek community that once resided nearby. This gate holds historical significance as the entrance through which slaves were permitted to enter Mdina.Originally constructed in the medieval period, the gate received a Baroque-style outer portal in 1724, designed by Charles François de Mondion. Despite this addition, the rear of the gate retains its original medieval form, making it a unique architectural blend and one of the few visible remnants of Mdina's medieval walls. The upper part of the gate features murals and oil paintings, including depictions of the Virgin and Child with Saint Anne and the Trinity, and the Baptism of Saint Publius by Paul the Apostle accompanied by Luke the Evangelist.Visitors can explore the charming streets of Mdina, known as the Silent City, and discover its rich history and breathtaking architecture. The narrow, winding alleys lead to ancient churches, charming squares, and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
