Ta' Kenuna Tower, situated on the cliffs near Nadur, Gozo, is a historical landmark with stunning views. Constructed in 1848 by the British, it functioned as a semaphore tower, facilitating communication between the Maltese islands. The tower stands 130 meters above sea level, providing a strategic vantage point for signaling to ships and other posts.The semaphore system became obsolete with the advent of the electrical telegraph, leading to the tower's closure in 1883. However, in 2005, the Nadur Local Council, with support from Maltacom (now GO), undertook restoration work. Today, the tower features a beacon to warn ships and various communication antennas.Visitors can seek permission from the watchman to access the covered roof, where they can enjoy panoramic views of Gozo, Comino, and Malta. The surrounding botanical gardens showcase a variety of endemic plants, adding to the site's appeal. The gardens provide a serene atmosphere for a leisurely stroll or quiet reflection.
