Getting there

Walking

From Hondoq Bay, start by walking towards the main road. Head southwest on the path that leads to the main access road. Continue along this road for approximately 15-20 minutes until you reach the junction with the main coastal road.

Walking

At the junction, turn left onto the main coastal road (Triq Il-Hondoq). Keep walking straight for about 1 kilometer; you will pass by several local residences and scenic views of the sea.

Walking

Once you reach the end of the coastal road, you will see a sign for 'Xatt L-Ahmar.' Turn right and continue for about 500 meters until you reach the area known as 'Xatt L-Ahmar.'

Walking

As you approach Xatt L-Ahmar, you'll notice a rocky path leading down towards the water. This path will take you directly to the MV Karwela wreck site, which is located off the coast. Be careful as the terrain can be uneven and slippery.

Diving/Snorkeling

To explore the wreck, you may need to rent snorkeling or diving gear if you don't have your own. Local shops in Hondoq Bay offer rental services. Be sure to check the local conditions, as a guided tour may be advisable for safety.
