    Getting There

    Walking

    Start at the Mdina Gate, the main entrance to the ancient city. From the gate, walk straight through the main street, Triq Villegaignon. Continue until you reach the end of the street, where you will find the beautiful St. Paul's Cathedral on your left. Just after the cathedral, take a right onto Triq Il-Mina. Follow this road, and you will see the Citadel, or Cittadella, rising above the surrounding area. It-Telgħa tal-Belt, the road leading to the Citadel, is clearly marked. The Citadel is approximately a 15-minute walk from the Mdina Gate.

    If you're starting from the Mdina Dungeons, exit the dungeon, and head east on Triq Il-Mina. Continue walking for about 5 minutes until you reach the main road leading up to the Citadel, which is It-Telgħa tal-Belt. You will see signs directing you to the Citadel. The walk is relatively short and offers beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.

    If you are near the Palazzo Falson, head south on Triq Il-Mina. Walk straight for around 10 minutes until you reach It-Telgħa tal-Belt. The Citadel will be on your right. This route provides a scenic view of Mdina's historic architecture as you approach the Citadel.

    From the National Museum of Natural History, exit the museum and turn left onto Triq Il-Mina. Keep walking straight for approximately 10-15 minutes, and you will reach the Citadel at It-Telgħa tal-Belt. This route is straightforward and allows you to enjoy the lovely streets of Mdina.
