Walking
From the center of Mgarr, head southeast on Triq l-Imġarr towards Triq San Pawl. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Triq il-Fortizza. Turn left onto Triq il-Fortizza and follow it until you see the signs for the ferry terminal. Keep walking towards the terminal, and once you reach it, look for signs leading to Ghajnsielem. Continue along the waterfront, and after about a 15-minute walk, you will reach the Xatt l-Aħmar Salt Pans, which will be on your left.
Public Transport
Start at the Mgarr bus stop located in the center of town. Take bus number 41 towards Ghajnsielem. The bus ride will take approximately 10 minutes. Get off at the stop called 'Ghajnsielem'. Once you exit the bus, walk straight along Triq l-Ghajn until you reach the waterfront. From there, follow the coastline for about 5-10 minutes, and you will arrive at the Xatt l-Aħmar Salt Pans.
