    From the centre of Paola, head to the nearest bus stop which is located on Triq il-Knisja. Catch any bus heading towards Valletta. The journey will take approximately 15-20 minutes. When you arrive in Valletta, get off at the bus terminus. From the bus terminus, follow the signs to the Barracca Lift, which is about a 10-minute walk. Head towards the main street, Republic Street, and then walk downhill towards the Upper Barracca Gardens where the lift is located.

    Walking

    If you prefer walking from Paola to Valletta, start from the central square, and head towards Triq il-Knisja. Continue straight onto Triq il-Labour and follow it until you reach the main road leading to Valletta. The walk will take about 40-50 minutes. Once you reach Valletta, head towards the Upper Barracca Gardens. The Barracca Lift is located near the gardens and will take you down to the waterfront.
