Getting There

  • Walking

    Start your journey at the Paola square (Piazza San Publiju), which is a central location in Paola. From the square, head east on Triq il-Kbira, passing the church on your right. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Triq San Tumas. Here, take a left onto Triq San Tumas and follow it as it curves slightly to the right. After a short walk, you will arrive at the bus terminus of Paola. From here, you can take a local bus towards Valletta.

  • Public Transport

    Once at the Paola bus terminus, board the bus heading towards Valletta. The journey will take approximately 10-15 minutes. Enjoy the scenic views as you travel. When you arrive in Valletta, alight at the nearest stop to the Upper Barracca Garden. From the bus stop, walk towards the Upper Barracca Gardens. Once you reach the gardens, continue walking towards the edge of the gardens, where you can view the Grand Harbour. Ponsonby's Column is a short walk from here.

    From the Upper Barracca Gardens, head towards the exit and take the stairs down towards the Valletta waterfront. Continue walking along the waterfront until you reach the steps leading up to the street level. Once you reach the top, turn left and walk along Triq Sant' Ursula. After a few minutes, you will see Ponsonby's Column on your right, set on a small hill overlooking the area.
