Walking
From the central area of Sliema, you can start at the Sliema Ferries. Head towards the waterfront promenade and walk along the seafront in the direction of St. Julian's. Continue walking until you reach the end of the promenade, then take a left onto Triq il-Lazzaretto. Follow this road until you arrive at the bus stop for bus route 81 towards Valletta.
Bus
Take bus route 81 from the bus stop near Triq il-Lazzaretto. The bus will take you directly to Kalkara. Remain on the bus for approximately 20 minutes. Once you arrive in Kalkara, get off at the stop marked 'Fort Rinella'. From there, walk towards the fort, which is within a short walking distance.
Walking
If you prefer to walk from the bus stop, exit the bus and head towards the fort by walking straight ahead. You will see Fort Rinella clearly marked as you approach. It takes about 5-10 minutes to walk from the bus stop to the entrance of Fort Rinella.
