Getting There

  • Ferry

    From Sliema, walk to the Sliema Ferries terminal located along the waterfront. Once there, purchase a ticket for the ferry heading to Valletta. The ferry ride will take approximately 10 minutes. Upon arriving at the Valletta Ferry Terminal, exit the terminal and follow signs towards the bus station. Board bus number 133, which will take you towards Birgu. Get off at the 'Birgu' stop. From there, walk straight on Triq Il-Kottonera for about 5 minutes until you reach Notre Dame Gate on your left.

  • Bus

    From Sliema, head to the nearest bus stop, which is located on the main road. You will need to take bus number 61 or 62 towards Valletta. After about 15-20 minutes, disembark at the Valletta Bus Station. Once there, transfer to bus number 133 towards Birgu. After another 10 minutes, get off at the 'Birgu' stop. Walk straight on Triq Il-Kottonera for about 5 minutes, and you will find Notre Dame Gate on your left.

  • Walking

    If you prefer to walk, start from the Sliema promenade and head towards Valletta. This is a longer journey, approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Walk along the promenade until you reach the entrance of Valletta. Once in Valletta, follow the signs to the Birgu ferry terminal. From the terminal, you can either take a short ferry ride to Birgu or continue walking along the waterfront and then follow Triq Il-Kottonera for about 15 minutes to reach Notre Dame Gate.
