Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, start from any point in the South Eastern District and head towards Valletta. Follow signs for 'Sliema' and 'Gżira' on the main road (Triq Sant' Anna). As you approach Gżira, look for the signs directing you to Manoel Island. You will need to find parking nearby as there is limited space on the island itself. The closest parking area is along Triq Manoel, which is a short walk to Fort Manoel.

Public Transportation (Bus)

To reach Fort Manoel via public transportation, find the nearest bus stop in the South Eastern District. Take bus number 12, 13, or 23 towards Sliema or Valletta. Get off at the 'Gżira' stop. From the bus stop, walk towards the waterfront and follow the signs to Manoel Island. The walk should take approximately 10-15 minutes. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance; a single bus ticket costs around €1.50.

Walking

If you are already in Gżira, you can easily walk to Fort Manoel. Head towards the seafront promenade and walk along the water. Follow the promenade until you reach the bridge leading to Manoel Island. The walk from the center of Gżira to Fort Manoel takes about 15-20 minutes. Ensure to wear comfortable shoes as the terrain may vary.

Taxi

For a more convenient option, you can take a taxi from anywhere in the South Eastern District to Fort Manoel. Simply request the driver to take you to 'Manoel Island, Gżira.' The journey should take around 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic, and expect to pay approximately €10-15 for the ride.
