Car
If you are traveling by car from Valletta, take the main road towards the north. Follow the signs for the Sliema and then continue to the Regional Road (SS1). After about 25 minutes, merge onto the Coast Road (A1) towards Mellieħa. Continue on this road for approximately 15 minutes. Once you reach Mellieħa, follow the signs to Popeye Village. You will turn onto Triq Tal-Prajjet. Parking is available on-site, and there is typically a fee of around €2 for parking.
Public Transportation
To reach Popeye Village using public transport, start by taking a bus from Valletta. You can catch bus number 41 or 42 from the Valletta bus terminal. These buses run frequently and will take you to Mellieħa. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Upon arriving in Mellieħa, you will need to switch to bus number 101, which will take you directly to Popeye Village. The bus stop is located near the entrance to the village. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they can vary, especially on weekends.
Taxi
For a more direct option, you can take a taxi from anywhere in the South Eastern Region. Simply request a taxi through a local service or use a ride-sharing app. The fare from Valletta to Popeye Village is approximately €30-€40, depending on traffic and the exact pickup point. This is the most convenient option if you are traveling in a group or with young children.
Walking (from Mellieħa)
If you find yourself in Mellieħa and wish to enjoy a scenic walk, you can walk to Popeye Village from the town center. The walk is about 3 kilometers and will take approximately 40 minutes. Head north on Triq Il-Madonna tal-Mellieħa, following the signs for Popeye Village. The route is mostly uphill, so be prepared for a bit of a workout. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially during the warmer months.
