Car
If you are driving, head towards Birgu by following signs for 'Birgu' or 'Vittoriosa'. From Valletta, take the road towards the waterfront and follow the signs. Once you reach Birgu, find a parking spot near the waterfront area. There are public parking facilities available, but be prepared to pay a small fee, typically around €1.50 per hour. The Birgu Waterfront is located at VGQ9+QWP, Birgu, which is easily accessible from the parking areas.
Public Transportation - Bus
To reach Birgu via public transport, take bus routes 81, 82, or 85 from various locations in Southern Harbour. Board the bus heading towards 'Vittoriosa' or 'Birgu'. The journey will take approximately 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Disembark at the 'Vittoriosa' stop, which is a short walk from the waterfront. From the bus stop, simply follow the signs or ask locals for directions to Birgu Waterfront, located at VGQ9+QWP, Birgu.
Ferry
If you are near Valletta, consider taking a ferry to Birgu. The ferry departs from the Valletta Waterfront (near the City Gate) and takes about 10 minutes to reach Birgu. The ferry ride costs around €1.50. Once you arrive at the Birgu ferry terminal, follow the signs to Birgu Waterfront, which is a short walk from the terminal (approximately 5-10 minutes).
Walking
If you are already in Birgu or nearby, walking to the Birgu Waterfront is a delightful option. The area is pedestrian-friendly, and you can enjoy the beautiful views along the way. Simply follow the signs or use a map application to navigate to VGQ9+QWP, Birgu, where the waterfront is located.
