Car
If you are driving, head towards the town of Zurrieq. From Valletta, take the Sliema Road (Triq ix-Xatt) which leads into the Birkirkara bypass and then follow the signs towards Zurrieq. Once in Zurrieq, follow the signs for the Blue Grotto. There is a car park available near the site, where you can leave your vehicle. Note that parking may have a fee of approximately €1.50 for a few hours.
Public Transportation
To reach Blue Grotto via public transport, take bus number 74 from Valletta. The bus will take you through several towns before arriving at Zurrieq. Make sure to get off at the stop for the Blue Grotto, which is clearly marked. The bus ride takes about 45 minutes. A single ticket costs around €2.00. After getting off the bus, it's a short walk (about 15 minutes) to the Blue Grotto viewpoint.
Taxi or Rideshare
If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi or using a rideshare service from your location in the Southern Region. The journey will typically take about 20 minutes from Zurrieq, depending on traffic. The fare may vary but expect to pay around €15-€25. Taxis can be found at designated stands or you can call one in advance.
Boat Tour
Once you arrive at the Blue Grotto area, you can take a boat tour to explore the caves and nearby attractions. These boat tours usually depart from the small harbor nearby and cost around €8-€10 per person. Be sure to check the schedules as they may vary based on weather conditions.
