Getting There

Bus
To reach Upper Barrakka in Valletta from St. Julian's, head to the nearest bus stop, which is located at Spinola Bay. Take bus number 65 or 68 towards Valletta. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Valletta, get off at the stop called 'Valletta - City Gate'. From there, follow the signs to the Upper Barracca Gardens, which is about a 10-minute walk uphill. You will pass through the main entrance of the city and then head straight until you reach the gardens.

Start at Spinola Bay and take a leisurely walk towards the nearby ferry terminal at Sliema. It's about a 15-minute walk along the promenade. Once at the ferry terminal, purchase a ticket for the Valletta ferry. The ferry ride will take around 10 minutes. Upon arriving at Valletta, exit the ferry and walk towards the Upper Barracca Gardens, which is approximately a 10-minute walk uphill from the ferry landing.

If you're feeling adventurous and prefer to walk, start at the main promenade in St. Julian's and walk towards Sliema, which is about a 20-minute walk. Once you reach Sliema, continue along the promenade until you see signs for Valletta. Follow the coastal path towards the city, which will take you approximately 1 hour to walk. Once you reach Valletta, enter through the main gates and follow the path uphill for about 10 minutes to reach Upper Barrakka.
