Getting There

Walking
From Tarxien Parish Church, head northwest on Triq Il-Knisja towards Triq Il-Helsien. Turn left onto Triq Il-Helsien and continue straight until you reach the main road, Triq San Leonardo. Turn right and walk along this road. You will pass by various shops and cafes. Continue walking straight until you reach the roundabout. Take the first exit onto Triq Il-Fortizza, which leads you towards Birgu. Walk straight until you see the signs for Birgu. Once you reach the entrance to Birgu, follow the signs towards the historical sites. Notre Dame Gate will be on your left after passing through the city gates.

From the Tarxien bus stop, take bus number 81 or 82 towards Valletta. After approximately 15 minutes, get off at the Valletta Terminus. From there, transfer to bus number 3 or 5 towards Cospicua. After about 10 minutes, get off at the Birgu stop. Once you exit the bus, walk towards the direction of the waterfront. You will see signs directing you to Notre Dame Gate. It’s a short 5-minute walk from the bus stop.
