Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Upper Barracca Gardens, simply exit the gardens and walk down the steps towards the Valletta Waterfront. Once you reach the bottom, turn left and follow the path along the waterfront. After a short walk, you will see signs directing you to the Lower Barrakka Gardens. Continue walking straight, and you will reach Lower Barrakka in about 5 minutes.

    If you are near the City Gate, head towards Republic Street, which is the main street in Valletta. Walk straight down Republic Street until you reach the end, where you will find the Entrance to the Lower Barracca Gardens on your right. It is a short walk of about 10 minutes from City Gate.

    From the National Museum of Archaeology, exit the museum and turn left onto Republic Street. Walk straight, passing by the Parliament and the Lower Barracca sign. Continue straight until you reach the entrance to the Lower Barracca Gardens, which will be on your right after approximately 8 minutes of walking.

    If you are coming from St. John's Co-Cathedral, exit the cathedral and head down St. John's Street. This will lead you to Republic Street. Turn left on Republic Street and walk until you come upon the Lower Barracca entrance on your right side. It should take you about 12 minutes to walk there.
