Walking
If you are starting from the Upper Barracca Gardens, exit the gardens and turn right onto the main road. Continue walking until you reach the entrance of the Lower Barracca Gardens. From the entrance, head straight down towards the waterfront. As you approach the water, turn left and follow the promenade. You will see Fort Saint Elmo to your right. Continue walking along the promenade until you reach the end, where you will see a road leading up to the city. Ascend this road, and as you reach the top, turn right onto Triq San Pawl. After a short walk, Ponsonby's Column will be in front of you, located in the small square.

If you are starting from Valletta's City Gate, exit the gate and walk straight down Republic Street. This is the main thoroughfare of Valletta, and you will pass by various shops and cafes. Keep walking until you reach the end of the street, where it intersects with St. George's Square. At the square, turn left onto Triq San Pawl. Continue walking for a few minutes, and Ponsonby's Column will appear on your right, situated in a small square.
