Walking
If you're starting from the Upper Barracca Gardens, exit the gardens and head towards the lift. Take the lift down to the lower level. Once you exit the lift, continue straight ahead through the main square (Pjazza Indipendenza). Walk past the Triton Fountain, which will be on your left. Continue walking straight along Republic Street (Triq ir-Repubblika) until you reach St. George's Square, which will be on your left. Look for the beautiful façade of the Palace of the President as you enter the square.

From the Valletta Waterfront, walk uphill towards the main city area. Follow the signs towards the city center. You will pass through the busy streets lined with shops and cafes. Keep heading straight until you reach the Upper Barracca Lift. From there, follow the previous guidance to St. George’s Square. Alternatively, if you want a more scenic route, walk along the waterfront promenade until you reach the entrance of Valletta, then follow Republic Street to the square.

Starting from the National Museum of Archaeology, exit the museum and turn right. Walk along the narrow streets until you reach St. Paul’s Street. Turn left onto St. Paul’s Street and continue straight until you reach Republic Street. Turn right on Republic Street and walk towards St. George’s Square, which will be on your right after a short walk. Look for the impressive architecture surrounding the square.

If you are near the Royal Opera House ruins, exit the site and walk towards the main thoroughfare. Head towards the main street (Republic Street). Once you reach Republic Street, turn left and continue walking straight. St. George’s Square will be on your left, marked by the beautiful buildings and the main entrance to the President's Palace.

From the Lower Barracca Gardens, exit and walk straight towards the exit of the gardens. Continue straight ahead towards the main road, then take a right onto the main street (Merchant Street). Walk until you reach Republic Street, then turn left. You will find St. George’s Square on your left after a few minutes of walking.
