Car
If you're driving from Valletta or the capital area, take the E1 highway towards the northern region. Follow the signs for Mellieħa. Once you reach Mellieħa, take the exit towards 'Foresta 2000' and look for X8CV+WCG on your GPS. There is ample parking available near the entrance of the reserve. Note that parking might incur a small fee, so be prepared with coins or a payment app.
Public Transportation
From Valletta, take Bus Route 49 towards Mellieħa. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Mellieħa, you will need to walk approximately 15-20 minutes to reach Foresta 2000. Head north on Triq Il-Wied and then turn onto Triq Il-Qasam, following the signs to the nature reserve. Be sure to check the local bus schedules as they can vary, especially on weekends.
Walking
If you are already in Mellieħa, you can reach Foresta 2000 on foot. From the town center, head north along Triq Il-Wied, then take a left onto Triq Il-Qasam. The reserve is a pleasant walk away, allowing you to enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding area. It should take you around 30 minutes to walk to the entrance.
Taxi
For a more convenient option, you can take a taxi from any location within Mellieħa. Simply call a local taxi service or use a ride-hailing app. The fare should be reasonable, around €10-€15 depending on your starting point.
