Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from the Annapolis City Dock, head northeast on Dock St toward Main St. Continue on Main St until you reach the intersection with West St. Turn left onto West St and walk until you reach the bus stop at West St & Church Circle. From there, take the Annapolis Transit Bus (Route 70) towards the Annapolis Mall. Get off at the bus stop at West St & Taylor Ave, and transfer to the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) bus (Route 300) towards Washington, DC. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the stop at Capitol Ave & 1st St, walk about 5 minutes to reach the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center at First St SE.

  • Public Transit

    From the Annapolis Town Center, walk to the nearest bus stop on Riva Rd. Take the MTA bus (Route 300) heading towards Washington, DC. The journey will take around 40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Capitol South Metro Station, exit and walk east on C St SE for about 5 minutes until you reach First St SE. The U.S. Capitol Visitor Center will be on your left. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time for the latest departure times.

  • Biking

    If you have access to a bike, start at the Annapolis City Dock and bike along the scenic route via the B&A Trail. Follow the trail until you reach the intersection with Route 50. Continue onto the dedicated bike lanes until you reach the D.C. area. Upon entering D.C., follow the bike-friendly paths towards the Capitol Hill area. Once you reach the vicinity of the U.S. Capitol, park your bike at one of the bike racks available nearby and walk to the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center located at First St SE.
