Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start on the main road in the Appalachian Plateau region. Use GPS or map navigation and input the coordinates or address (Maryland 20842) for Sugarloaf Mountain. From popular towns like Frederick, MD, take US-15 S to the exit for MD-85 E/MD-355 S. Continue on MD-355 S, then take a left onto Sugarloaf Mountain Road. Follow this road until you reach the parking area for Sugarloaf Mountain. Note that parking is usually free but can fill up quickly during weekends and holidays.

• Public Transportation

  To access Sugarloaf Mountain via public transportation, you can take a train or bus to Frederick, MD. From Washington, D.C., take the MARC Train (Brunswick Line) to Frederick Station.
