Getting There

  • Public Bus

    From Mount Vernon, walk to the nearest bus stop at Charles St & Centre St. Board the MTA Local Bus #51 or #64 heading towards South Baltimore. After approximately 15-20 minutes, get off at the stop for Fort McHenry (Fort Avenue & E Fort Ave). From there, it's a short walk to the entrance of Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine located at 2400 E Fort Ave, Baltimore, MD 21230. The bus fare is approximately $1.80, and you can pay with cash or a CharmCard.

  • Water Taxi

    You can also take a scenic route by using the Baltimore Water Taxi. Head to the nearest water taxi stop at the Inner Harbor. Board the water taxi heading towards the Fort McHenry stop. The ride will offer beautiful views of the harbor and will take about 10-15 minutes. The cost of the water taxi is approximately $20 for a round trip. Once you arrive at the Fort McHenry dock, it's a short walk to the entrance at 2400 E Fort Ave.
