From your location in Bethesda, walk to the Bethesda Metro Station, located at 7400 Wisconsin Avenue. Take the Red Line towards Glenmont. Ride the train for 6 stops and get off at the Gallery Place-Chinatown station. Here, transfer to the Yellow Line towards Mount Vernon Sq. After 1 stop, get off at the L'Enfant Plaza station. Finally, switch to the Blue Line towards Franconia-Springfield and ride for 4 stops to reach the King Street-Old Town station in Alexandria, Virginia. From there, you can take a bus or an Uber to Mt Vernon.
