Getting There

Metro
To reach Washington Union Station from downtown Bethesda, first, walk to the Bethesda Metro station located at 7400 Waverly Street. Board the Red Line train towards Glenmont. Stay on the train for about 10 stops, approximately 25 minutes. When you arrive at the Gallery Place-Chinatown station, transfer to the Yellow Line towards Mount Vernon Sq/7th St-Convention Center. After one stop, get off at the Judiciary Square station. From there, exit the station and walk northeast for about 10 minutes along E St NW until you reach Massachusetts Ave NE. Turn left and continue for a short distance until you arrive at Washington Union Station.

Bus
To get to Washington Union Station via bus, walk to the nearest bus stop on Wisconsin Ave, which is served by the Metrobus. You can take the 34 or 36 bus towards the Friendship Heights Metro Station. Ride the bus for about 20 minutes and get off at the stop at H and 1st St NE. From there, walk 5 minutes northeast along H St NE until you reach Massachusetts Ave NE, and turn right. Washington Union Station will be on your left.

Walking
If you prefer to walk, start from downtown Bethesda and head east on Elm St. Continue straight to Old Georgetown Rd and then turn left onto Wisconsin Ave. Walk along Wisconsin Ave for about 1 mile until you reach the intersection with East-West Hwy. Cross East-West Hwy and continue straight onto the Capital Crescent Trail. Follow the trail until you reach the intersection with the C&O Canal Towpath. Walk along the Canal until you reach the Georgetown Waterfront Park, then head towards the Key Bridge. Once across the bridge, follow the signs to connect to the National Mall and head towards the Capitol Hill area. Finally, walk along the streets until you reach Massachusetts Ave NE, where Washington Union Station is located.
