If you're driving, the easiest route to Historic Fort Armistead is to take I-95 N from anywhere in the Chesapeake Bay Area. Follow I-95 N and take the exit toward I-695 S. Merge onto I-695 S, then take exit 1B for I-895 N toward the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel. After passing through the tunnel, take exit 5A toward Fort Armistead Rd. Follow Fort Armistead Rd until you reach the fort's entrance. Parking is available on-site. Note: There may be tolls on I-895.

To reach Historic Fort Armistead using public transportation, start your journey by taking the Light RailLink to the Baltimore Arena station. From there, transfer to the MTA bus route 73 towards Brooklyn. Ride the bus until you reach the stop at Fort Armistead Rd. The fort is a short walk from the bus stop. Make sure to check the MTA schedule in advance as buses may not run frequently. A one-way fare on the bus is approximately $1.80.
