Getting There

    To reach the Middle Patuxent Environmental Area from central Columbia, start by taking the Howard County Transit bus Route 409 from the Columbia Mall. Board the bus at the designated bus stop near the mall entrance. Ride the bus for about 15-20 minutes and get off at the stop for 'Clarksville Road and Trotter Road'. From there, walk north on Trotter Road for approximately 0.5 miles until you reach the entrance to Middle Patuxent Environmental Area on your right.

    If you prefer to cycle, you can start from the Columbia Town Center. Head east on Little Patuxent Parkway and follow the bike lanes. When you reach the intersection with Cedar Lane, turn left. Continue on Cedar Lane until you reach Trotter Road, where you will turn right. Follow Trotter Road for about 1 mile, and you will find the entrance to the Middle Patuxent Environmental Area on your left. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic rules.
