Car
If you're traveling by car from Eastern Shore, start by heading west on US-50. Continue towards the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, crossing the bridge to enter Annapolis. From Annapolis, merge onto US-301 North. Follow US-301 to I-495 North (Capital Beltway). Take exit 22B for I-295 North towards Baltimore. Follow I-295 to I-695 and then merge onto I-95 North. Use exit 3A for the George Washington Parkway towards Washington, D.C. After about 10 miles, take the exit toward Memorial Bridge. Follow the signs to the Lincoln Memorial and then to the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. Parking is available but may incur a cost depending on the time of day.
Public Transportation
For public transportation, begin at the nearest transit station on the Eastern Shore, such as the Easton Transit Center. Take a Greyhound or other bus service towards Washington, D.C. Upon arrival at the bus station in D.C., transfer to the Metro system. Use the Metro's Blue Line towards Largo Town Center, and disembark at the Smithsonian Station. From there, it’s about a 10-15 minute walk to the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, following the National Mall pathway towards the Tidal Basin.
