Experience Elk Neck State Forest

Getting There

  • Car

    From the main entrance of Elk Neck State Park, head north on Turkey Point Road for about 2 miles. You will come to a T-intersection. Turn right onto Elk Neck Road and continue for approximately 1.5 miles. Then, turn left onto Irishtown Road. After about 0.5 miles, you will see the entrance to Elk Neck State Forest on your left. Look for the sign indicating the forest entrance.

  • Public Transportation

    Public transportation options to Elk Neck State Forest are limited. If you're starting from North East, MD, take the Harford Transit bus (Route 2) towards Elkton. Get off at the stop on Elk Neck Road. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile down Elk Neck Road until you reach Irishtown Road. Turn left on Irishtown Road, and after about 0.5 miles, you will see the entrance to Elk Neck State Forest on your left.

  • Biking/Walking

    If you are already within Elk Neck State Park and wish to bike or walk to Elk Neck State Forest, you can follow the same route as cars. Head north on Turkey Point Road for about 2 miles to the T-intersection, then turn right onto Elk Neck Road. Continue for approximately 1.5 miles, then turn left onto Irishtown Road.
