From Frederick, head to the Frederick Transit Center located at 100 S. East St. Catch the 'FRED' bus marked for Harpers Ferry. The bus will take you directly to Harpers Ferry. Once you arrive at the Harpers Ferry stop, follow the signs towards the National Historical Park. From there, you can start your hike towards Maryland Heights, which is a well-marked trail. The hike offers beautiful views and is a popular destination.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local shop in Frederick. Start by heading south on East St. and follow the bike lanes to the C&O Canal Towpath. This scenic route will take you directly toward Harpers Ferry. Upon arriving in Harpers Ferry, you can access the Maryland Heights trailhead near the visitor center. Make sure to bring water, as the trail can be strenuous.

For those who enjoy walking, you can take a scenic stroll along the C&O Canal Towpath. Start at the canal entrance near the Frederick City Park. Follow the path for approximately 8 miles until you reach Harpers Ferry. Once in Harpers Ferry, head towards the National Historical Park and locate the Maryland Heights trailhead. Note that this is a long walk and may take several hours.
