From Gaithersburg, head to the nearest bus stop on MD-355 (Wisconsin Avenue). Take the Ride On Bus Route 58 towards the Shady Grove Metro Station. After approximately 20 minutes, get off at the Shady Grove Metro Station. From there, take the Metro Red Line towards Glenmont and travel for 11 stops. Disembark at the Grosvenor-Strathmore station. Transfer to the Metrobus Route 470 towards Great Falls. After a short ride, get off at the Great Falls Park stop. You will need to walk a short distance to reach Matildaville Trail.

Start at the Gaithersburg City Hall (31 S Summit Ave). From there, walk to the Gaithersburg MARC Station, which is about a 10-minute walk. Take the MARC Train on the Brunswick Line towards Washington, D.C. You will need to get off at the Rockville Station. Once at Rockville, transfer to the Metro Red Line towards Glenmont and travel for 4 stops. Get off at the Grosvenor-Strathmore station. Finally, take the Metrobus Route 470 towards Great Falls, and disembark at the Great Falls Park stop. Matildaville Trail is within walking distance from this bus stop.
