From Gaithersburg, walk to the Gaithersburg Metro Station. Take the Red Line towards Glenmont. Ride the train until you reach the Rockville Metro Station. Transfer to the Red Line towards Shady Grove and ride until you reach the Gallery Place Metro Station. Here, transfer to the Yellow Line towards Huntington. Ride until you reach the King Street-Old Town Metro Station. From there, exit the station and walk approximately 15 minutes to Waterfront Park located at 1A Prince St, Alexandria, VA 22314.
Bus
Take the Ride On Bus Route 55 from the Gaithersburg Transit Center towards the Shady Grove Metro Station. Get off at the Shady Grove Metro Station and transfer to the Metro. Take the Red Line towards Glenmont and ride until you reach the Gallery Place Metro Station. Transfer to the Yellow Line towards Huntington, and get off at the King Street-Old Town Metro Station. From there, it is a 15-minute walk to Waterfront Park at 1A Prince St, Alexandria, VA 22314.
Walking
If you are within walking distance from downtown Gaithersburg, head towards the Gaithersburg Train Station. From the station, walk south along MD-355 until you reach the intersection with E Diamond Ave. Turn left onto E Diamond Ave and continue walking until you reach the intersection with N Frederick Ave. From there, continue straight until you reach the Rockville Metro Station. You can then take the Metro as previously described to reach Waterfront Park.
