Public Transit
To reach McPherson Square from Laurel, MD, first make your way to the Laurel MARC Train Station. Once there, board the MARC Train on the Penn Line towards Washington, D.C. After approximately 30 minutes, you will arrive at the Washington Union Station. From Union Station, exit the station and head to the nearby Metro Center Station, which is a short walk away. At Metro Center, board the Orange, Blue, or Silver Line towards Largo Town Center, Franconia-Springfield, or Wiehle-Reston East respectively. Travel just one stop to McPherson Square Station. Upon exiting the station, you will find yourself at McPherson Square, located at 901 15th St NW. Follow the signs to the park.
Walking
If you are already in downtown Washington, D.C., and near the McPherson Square area, you can easily walk to the park. Simply navigate your way to 15th Street NW. If you are at a notable location like the White House, head south on 15th Street NW. Continue walking straight for about 10 minutes, and you will see McPherson Square on your right, marked by ample benches and green space.
Bus
From Laurel, you can also take a bus to reach McPherson Square. Start by catching the 89 or 87 bus from Laurel. Travel towards the Greenbelt Metro Station. Once there, transfer to the Green Line Metro towards Branch Avenue. Ride the train until you reach the L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station. From L'Enfant Plaza, transfer to the Yellow Line towards Greenbelt. Travel one stop to the Gallery Place-Chinatown Station, and then transfer to the Red Line towards Glenmont. Finally, ride the Red Line to the Farragut North Station. Exit the station and head south on 17th St NW, then turn right on I St NW. Continue walking until you reach 15th St NW, where McPherson Square will be located.
