Getting There

• Public Bus

  From Laurel, head to the nearest bus stop on Route 198. Take the bus towards Greenbelt. After approximately 30 minutes, transfer to the Metrobus route B30 at Greenbelt Metro Station. Board the bus heading towards the Greenbelt Metro Station and ride until you reach the L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station. From there, transfer to the Yellow Line towards Huntington. Get off at the Rosslyn Metro Station, and exit towards the Key Bridge. Walk across the Key Bridge, and you will arrive at Theodore Roosevelt Island.

• Light Rail

  Make your way to the Laurel Train Station. Board the MARC Train on the Camden Line towards Washington, D.C. After around 25 minutes, disembark at the Union Station. Once at Union Station, head to the Metro station located within the Union Station complex. Take the Red Line towards Glenmont and switch at Gallery Place to the Yellow Line towards Huntington. Get off at Rosslyn Metro Station, exit towards the Key Bridge, and walk across the bridge to reach Theodore Roosevelt Island.

• Bicycle

  If you're up for a bike ride, you can use the bike lanes on Route 1 heading towards Washington, D.C. Follow the bike path to the Washington & Old Dominion Trail until you reach the Potomac River. From there, continue along the trail until you reach the Key Bridge. Cross the bridge, and Theodore Roosevelt Island will be on your right. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all bike safety rules.

• Walking

  If you're feeling adventurous and up for a long walk, you can start at the Laurel Town Center. Head south on Route 1, following the pedestrian walkways until you reach the intersection with Route 198. Continue walking along Route 198 west until you reach the intersection with the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Cross the parkway, and keep heading towards the metro station. From there, you can continue to walk along the Key Bridge to Theodore Roosevelt Island. Be prepared for a lengthy journey, approximately 4-5 hours.
