Getting There

• Walking

  Once you are inside Sandy Point State Park, head towards the Visitor Center located near the entrance. From the Visitor Center, take the main park road south. Continue on this road for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with the Corcoran Environmental Study Area marked by a sign. Follow the trail signs directing you to the Corcoran Environmental Study Area, which is approximately a 10-minute walk from the Visitor Center.

• Biking

  If you have a bike or can rent one, Sandy Point State Park has designated bike paths. Start at the Visitor Center and take the main park road south. Follow the bike path signs towards the Corcoran Environmental Study Area. The bike ride will take approximately 5 minutes, covering a distance of about 0.5 miles.

• Driving

  If you are driving within Sandy Point State Park, head towards the Visitor Center and continue south on the main park road. There is limited parking available near the Corcoran Environmental Study Area. Make sure to check for any parking fees, which are typically around $3 per vehicle for state park entry. The drive will take about 5 minutes, depending on traffic within the park.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Sandy Point State Park via public transportation, take a bus to Annapolis. From the bus station, you can catch a local taxi or rideshare service to the park entrance. Once inside the park, follow the directions for walking or biking as mentioned above to reach the Corcoran Environmental Study Area. Be aware of potential fare costs for the bus and taxi services.
