Metro
From anywhere in Silver Spring, walk to the Silver Spring Metro Station located at 8401 Colesville Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20910. Take the Red Line train toward Glenmont. Ride for 6 stops and get off at the Farragut North station. Then, transfer to the Dupont Circle Metro Station. From there, exit the station and walk 0.5 miles (about 10 minutes) to the DAR Museum located at 1776 D St NW, Washington, DC 20006. Head southwest on Connecticut Ave NW, turn left onto K St NW, and finally turn right onto 17th St NW, leading you directly to the museum.
Bus
You can take the Ride On bus route 14 from Silver Spring. Board the bus at the Silver Spring Transit Center. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes and get off at the stop at 17th St NW & D St NW. From there, it is just a short walk (about 2 minutes) to the DAR Museum at 1776 D St NW. Head east on D St NW, and the museum will be on your left.
Walking
If you are in the downtown area of Silver Spring, you can walk to the DAR Museum. Start at the Silver Spring Library located at 8901 Colesville Rd. Walk south toward The Fillmore, then continue on Colesville Rd until you reach the Silver Spring Metro Station. Follow the directions for the Metro or take a bus from there as mentioned above. If you prefer not to use public transportation, consider using a map app to guide you through the streets toward Washington, DC.
