Metro
From your current location in Silver Spring, head to the Silver Spring Metro Station located at 8700 Colesville Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20910. You can walk to the station if you're nearby, or use a local bus if further away. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to the Gallery Place-Chinatown station in Washington, DC. Board the Red Line train heading towards Glenmont. Stay on the train for approximately 10 stops, and disembark at the Gallery Place-Chinatown station. From here, transfer to the Yellow Line or Green Line towards L'Enfant Plaza or Branch Avenue, respectively. Get on the Yellow Line and travel one stop to the Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter station. Once you exit the station, walk southwest on 7th St NW towards Pennsylvania Ave NW, and then turn left onto Pennsylvania Ave NW. One Freedom Plaza will be on your right at 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
Bus
If you prefer to take a bus, locate a Montgomery County Ride On bus stop near you. Check the Ride On bus schedule for routes heading towards the Silver Spring Transit Center. Once at the Transit Center, transfer to a WMATA bus heading towards Washington, DC. You can take the 70 or 79 bus routes which travel directly to downtown DC. Ask the bus driver for the closest stop to 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue NW. After disembarking, walk to Pennsylvania Avenue and head east until you reach One Freedom Plaza.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and want to walk to Washington, DC, start from Silver Spring and head south towards the Capital Crescent Trail. Follow the trail towards the Georgetown area, then continue towards the National Mall. This will be a long walk, approximately 7 miles. Once you reach the National Mall, head east on Constitution Ave NW until you reach 14th St NW. Turn left onto 14th St and continue until you reach Pennsylvania Ave NW. Turn right on Pennsylvania Ave NW, and One Freedom Plaza will be on your left at 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
