From downtown Silver Spring, walk to the Silver Spring Transit Center located at 8100 Fenton St. Board the Metrobus route B30 towards 'Branch Ave Metro Station'. Stay on the bus for approximately 30-35 minutes. Get off at the 'Brandywine Rd & Old Branch Ave' stop. From there, it's about a 10-minute walk: head south on Brandywine Rd, and you'll find the Surratt House Museum at 9118 Brandywine Rd on your left.
Metro and Bus
From the Silver Spring Metro Station (located at 8700 Colesville Rd), take the Red Line train towards Glenmont. Get off at the 'Branch Ave' station and transfer to the Metrobus B30 route towards 'Bowie State University'. Ride for about 15 minutes until you reach 'Brandywine Rd & Old Branch Ave'. Walk south on Brandywine Rd for about 10 minutes until you reach the Surratt House Museum at 9118 Brandywine Rd.
Taxi/Ride Share
If you prefer a more direct route, you can use a taxi or a ride-sharing service like Uber or Lyft. Simply request a ride to '9118 Brandywine Rd, Clinton, MD 20735'. The driver will take you directly to the museum, and the trip will take approximately 20-25 minutes depending on traffic.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous and would like to cycle, you can rent a bike from a local bike-sharing service. Head south on Colesville Rd, then turn onto Sargent Rd, which will lead you to the Anacostia Tributary Trail System. Follow the trail south, and then connect to Brandywine Rd. Continue along Brandywine Rd for about 5 miles, and you'll arrive at the Surratt House Museum. This ride should take about 30-40 minutes depending on your cycling speed.
