Getting There

Public Bus
From downtown Silver Spring, walk to the Silver Spring Transit Center. You can take the Ride On Bus Route 46 towards Lakeforest Mall. Get off the bus at the stop on Montgomery Village Ave & Whetstone Way. From there, it's about a 15-minute walk to the Trailhead Washingtonian Woods. Head northwest on Whetstone Way, then turn right onto Montgomery Village Ave. Continue straight until you reach Hillside Lake Terrace, then turn left. The entrance to the trailhead will be on your right.

Metro and Bus Combination
Take the Metro Red Line from Silver Spring Station towards Glenmont. Get off at the Shady Grove Station. From there, transfer to the Ride On Bus Route 55 towards Lakeforest Mall. Get off at the stop on Montgomery Village Ave & Whetstone Way. Walk northwest on Whetstone Way, turning right onto Montgomery Village Ave, then left onto Hillside Lake Terrace. The Trailhead Washingtonian Woods will be on your right.

If you prefer biking, rent a bike from a local bike-sharing service near downtown Silver Spring. Head north on Georgia Ave, then turn right onto MD-200 (Intercounty Connector). Continue on the bike path until you reach Montgomery Village Ave. Turn left and follow Montgomery Village Ave until you reach Hillside Lake Terrace. The trailhead will be on your right.
